Summer in Singapore

When we talk about fashion’s seasonal collections in Singapore, it just doesn't seem to make sense. Why all that talk about Spring, Autumn or Winter when it’s Summer all year round in Singapore?

In other parts of the world, it seems global warming and climate change has made the idea of seasonal collections obsolete. The Independent reported how stores in the United States have hired climatologists to help plan their collections and making summer items available all year round; while closer to us down under, the Australian Fashion Week is shifting to show trans-seasonal collections for all-year round wear that suits the unpredictable weather.

Here in Singapore, we have less of a problem – like we all say; it’s either hot, hotter or hottest with the occasional precipitation. So we figured, what’s best would be to take inspirations from the street – like the legendary Coco Chanel said:

“Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” – Coco Chanel
